Major project in Israel starts end of January 2017
Team Thormählen will start a new major project at the end of January. The last stage of the Israeli high speed line connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv will also be welded with our mobile flash butt welding technology. The 45 km slab track system Max Bögl will lead mainly through tunnels and over bridges. In Israel only 18m rails are used, which means that about 5,200 welds have to be executed. From the beginning Thormählen had been involved in the planning of the Jointless Rail.
As we are already working on the annual welding contract with Israel Railways we will bring a second welding machine from Germany to work on the A1 project.
2016 may come
The annual ...maintenance contract of the German Railways from 2016 – 2019 had been submitted. Once again Klaus Thormählen GmbH has been awarded the welding work in the main districts in North-, East- and Western Germany.
We want to thank all customers, partners and staff for the trust and the good and pleasant cooperation. We are looking forward to continue in 2016 with optimism and good spirits.
Contract for port of Hamburg
On April 9th 2014 we have been awarded with the contract for the welding-maintenance of the rail network by the Hamburg Port Authority. The port of Hamburg is the largest railway port in Europe with an area of 7,200 hectares. It connects 950 ports in 178 countries und once more it comes true: “We create connections that last much longer”
Sometimes it is a question of quick response…
On October 9 2013 we received a first inquiry regarding 1,100 flash-butt-welds to produce long rails on a track-renewal site in Western-Turkey (Usak-Dumlupinar).
Two weeks later the work had to start and the schedule was very tight to always enable clearance for the following and fast working reconstruction train.
Within two weeks one of our 36to Flash-Butt-Welding trucks was shipped from Berlin via Italy to the site at Izmir and the welding work started on October 20. At all times we met the schedule so that the work could be finished in time. In all terms a top performance of our fbw-department and our colleagues of Thormählen Ltd. Ankara.
